Mariage : FAQ
My wedding photography style combines documentary storytelling with a strong aesthetic sensibility. I tell the story of the day through photographs while maintaining an artistic approach. With more than 15 years of experience, I create a visual style tailored to each couple. My approach is always highly personalized. Three things set me apart: 1. Commitment: I am passionate and deeply involved. I treat every wedding as unique and pay close attention to detail to create lasting images. I favor natural photographs captured as events unfold, using a documentary approach. I avoid artificial poses whenever possible: once we have taken the time to get to know each other, gestures and interactions tend to happen naturally. I adapt my approach to each wedding and to your preferences in terms of color, light and photographic treatment. I can offer a very natural look, a more specific color treatment or a stronger emphasis on black and white. You can email me at reportages@pascalmontagne.photos, send me a WhatsApp message or call me on +33 6 69 02 87 15. Booking takes place in three stages: an initial conversation of about 15 minutes to check my availability and explain the main terms of the service; one or two in-person or video meetings so that we can get to know each other; and finally, signing the contract. Yes. My calendar includes many commitments, so it is best to book as early as possible, ideally at least one year in advance. Yes. Meeting beforehand is essential so that I can understand your personalities, your expectations and the details of your wedding. We generally arrange one or two meetings of around two hours, either by video or in person depending on your circumstances. Of course. The contract can be signed and the deposit paid entirely online. The basic service includes: – coverage of the wedding day, generally from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.; The price depends on your expectations and our initial consultation. Options can include a videographer for your wedding film, a second photographer, Polaroid photographs given immediately to guests, a luxury album, large-format prints or a trash-the-dress photo shoot. Every service is highly personalized. If you have specific requirements — such as a wedding lasting several days, multiple venues or a photo shoot in another country — we can build a tailored proposal. I have photographed many weddings in the Loire Valley for international couples. My clients have included American, Colombian, Italian, British, Turkish, Mexican, Israeli, Lebanese, Pakistani, Indian, Canadian, Australian, Spanish, Moroccan and Algerian citizens. Yes. My level of English allows me to communicate easily with my clients and their guests. Yes. I can travel anywhere in the world. Yes. I pay close attention to each couple’s culture, traditions and religion so that I can create original and respectful photographs that reflect their expectations. I am already familiar with a number of Catholic, Protestant, Muslim and Hindu traditions. Yes. I pay close attention to my clients’ culture, traditions and religion in order to create original photographs that match their expectations while respecting their traditions. Yes. I know the region very well, from its most prestigious venues to its most intimate places. Depending on your expectations, I can recommend estates, châteaux and more unexpected or original locations. I work very discreetly and build a relationship of trust without imposing myself. I am present at the right moment and can offer guidance when it is useful, while allowing the day to unfold naturally. Yes. Coverage over several days is entirely possible. Yes. I can be present from the beginning of the preparations in order to tell the complete story of your day. Yes. I stay for the evening when it is included in the chosen coverage. It is often an opportunity to create spontaneous, energetic and sometimes slightly wild photographs. The number depends on the length and events of the wedding. For a complete wedding day, I generally deliver around 400 selected and processed photographs. I generally deliver the photographs within approximately one month. The photographs are presented in a secure online gallery and can be downloaded in high resolution. Depending on the chosen service, I can also provide a USB drive, an album and high-end photographic prints. The images are first processed with careful work on contrast, light and cropping, then finished according to the chosen look, in color or black and white. Heavy retouching is rare, although I can occasionally remove a distracting element from the frame. Yes. I produce fine-art prints on different papers, including cotton and baryta, as well as on Dibond or Plexiglas, in small or large formats and with original framing. I also offer high-end albums. I am based in Tours, in the Loire Valley near Paris. I work in Paris and throughout France, as well as internationally — in New York, New Delhi, Tokyo, Istanbul, Berlin or London, for example. Yes. I photograph many weddings in the Loire Valley, including around the châteaux of Chenonceau, Chambord, Blois, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Azay-le-Rideau, Amboise, Cheverny and Villandry. Yes. I am based in the Loire Valley and also work frequently in Paris, which makes it easy to arrange meetings before the wedding. Yes. My work as a photographer has taken me throughout Europe, to the United States, Japan, India, Indonesia, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Iran and Turkey. These experiences have helped me understand different cultures, which also enriches my wedding photography. The Loire Valley offers many settings: the châteaux of Amboise, Chenonceau, Chambord or Cheverny; the river landscapes and small Loire islands; and more secluded places among vineyards and villages. We can also imagine a special experience involving a vintage car, a hot-air balloon or a helicopter. Yes. These are sessions I particularly enjoy: we can choose the best locations, seek out the most flattering light and take our time without the pressure of the wedding day. The final hours of the day generally offer the softest and most attractive light. Red and orange skies are common in the Loire Valley, and this is often when I photograph the couple. Yes. I help you create a complete and precise schedule so that you can enjoy the day without unnecessary stress. If something unexpected happens, I adapt. Several solutions are possible: taking photographs indoors with a studio-inspired approach, using the rain creatively to produce original images, or postponing a couple session for a few days in order to benefit from better weather. If I fall ill on the wedding day, a professional photographer can replace me and will receive all the detailed information I have prepared. To date, this situation has never occurred. I check my availability for the new date, and then we confirm the postponement together. I may wish to show some images to present my work, but this must always be clear between us. Publication terms should be confirmed together and stated in the contract. If you prefer to remain discreet, or to limit the use of certain photographs, please tell me during our conversations: I respect each couple’s privacy and the personal importance of these images. Yes, of course. A wedding includes very personal moments, and I fully understand that some images are not meant to be shown publicly. The best approach is to tell me in advance, so your wishes are clearly identified. The exact privacy and publication terms should be confirmed together and, if needed, set out in the contract to avoid any ambiguity. The most important thing is to set aside a quiet moment in your schedule, with no guests to manage and no phone to check. I recommend thinking about travel time, shoes and anything that might limit your movement. There is no need to rehearse poses: I will guide you simply so we can create natural images that reflect the way you are together. It depends on your schedule, the venue and what you would like. I often prefer a short, relaxed moment rather than a long session that keeps you away from your guests. We can discuss it together before the wedding to find the right balance, taking the light, travel time and the overall pace of the day into account. That is very common, and you do not need to know how to pose. My role is to help you feel comfortable, observe your connection and give you a few simple directions when needed. I focus on interaction, spontaneous gestures and quiet moments. The aim is not to perform, but to create images that genuinely feel like you. Yes, that can be a very good option if the schedule allows it. A few minutes after the ceremony, then another moment in better light, can be enough to create variety without keeping you away from your guests for long. We will decide together what is realistic, based on your organisation and the priorities of the day. An after-wedding session is a photo shoot arranged after the wedding, on a date we choose together. It gives you the chance to wear your outfits again, take your time, and create couple portraits in a location or light that may not have been possible on the wedding day. I see it as a freer moment, without the pressure of the schedule, while keeping the emotion of your story. Most of the time, yes, because that is what gives an after-wedding shoot its meaning: bringing back the look and emotion of your wedding in a calmer setting. But you do not have to recreate everything exactly. You can simplify the hairstyle, change accessories, or choose something more comfortable if it feels more like you. We discuss all of this together before the shoot. Your wedding-day couple portraits tell the real emotion of the day, with its rhythm and energy. An after-wedding session brings something different: more time, fewer constraints, and sometimes a different setting or chosen light. It can complement the reportage without replacing it, especially if you would like more contemplative, more adventurous images, or simply a quiet moment together after the celebration.Style and approach
